DOStamper STARs Thursday Challenge #192 - Color My World

It's time for the weekly DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge.  Today it is a  "Color My World" challenge.

 

 

 



This card has flowers and a bit of bling, all a girl needs on her birthday.  I love the Irresistibly Floral Speciality DSP, you can leave it white or add color with one of our wonderful Stampin Pads.  This was so easy I cut the DSP and sponged on Sweet Sugarplum -- one of the new in-colors.  The embossed flowers and swirls are stunning.  I added a bit of Wink of Stella on the jewels from the  July 2016 What A Gem Paper Pumpkin kit.  I participate in many swaps each month and this card is made for an upcoming sketch swap on Swap-Bot.  Tomorrow this gem is going to Florida.

DOStamper STARs Thursday Challenge #191 - Sketch Pad Challenge - Flower Shop

Welcome to this week's DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we are having a "Sketch Pad Challenge" inspired by the sketch below.

   

 

 

I kept this card very simple to follow the sketch that I adore.  Finally used some of the vellum I got during Sal-A-Bration, I love the images on the vellum.  Maybe  it comes back in other patterns, perhaps for the holidays.   I hope this heat is getting better for most of you, we are at about normal here in North Texas averaging in the mid 90's.  My grass is starting to turn brown, boo hoo, hope we get rain soon.

DOStamper STARs Thursday Challenge #190 - Product Spotlight - Love You Lots

Welcome to this week's DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we are having a "Product Spotlight Challenge".  The product for this week are the exclusive Host Sets that are only available with Stampin Rewards.  You can see them on pages 198 - 200 in the current catalog.   

 

 

 

For my card this week I choose the "Love You Lots" set.  I have had an affinity for ladybugs ever since we adopted our children form China and hedgehogs remind me of my years living in England while I was serving in the USAF.  This is one kit I knew I had to have.  Did you know that ladybugs can be yellow, orange or red?  I did not know that until I witnessed the different colored ladybugs after we moved to Texas.  To learn how I made this little label with the Decorative Label Punch click here to watch the video.

Card Sketch Monday - Paper and Ink Sketches #1

Hello - 
Last week I participated in the inaugural Paper and Ink Sketches challenge hosted by Angie Juda on Facebook.  I have admired Angie's creativity for years and I was so happy to be part of her first sketch challenge.  This challenge was clean and simple, just the way I like them. 

 

I stayed true to the sketch as did many others that posted their creations on Facebook.   It is a great way to use up bits of DSP and ribbon that are hanging around.  Instead of ribbon you could add a coordinating paper border and create a bow with the Bow Builder Punch.  You could even add a matching envelope made with the Envelope Punch Board.  I used the Perfect Pairings stamp set for my sentiments, but any sentiment would work on this card. 

I had so much fun making one card that I ended up making six.  I am working on a little box for them as I plan to gift this set to a dear friend and school teacher.  You can check out the other Paper and Ink Sketches cards here on FB.

Paper Pumpkin Friday - July 2015 Alt Card - Thanks A Latte

Oh my, I am so happy to make this post.  I have waited a year to get my hands on the July 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit, Thanks A Latte. I skipped ordering last July and boy, did I regret it.  I just adore this little stamp set and I do love a latte on occasion, so I was truly happy when I won it on EBay.  Now I need to find a refill. LOL!!

All the cards are modifications of the original project.  On a few I added an orange corrugated  layer from the May 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit, Many Manly Occasions.  I really like that corrugated cardstock it adds great texture to any project.    I also layered one with just Basic Grey, another with Basic Grey and Tangerine Tango, and one other with Wild Wasabi cardstock and ribbon.  The box I made with 12 x 12 Basic Black cardstock using the envelop punch board.  It only took me one time to get the box  together following instructions I found on YouTube -- usually it takes.   I really enjoyed this kit.  Can't wait to see what is in my July 2016 kit.  I love surprises.  I gifted this set to my neighbor as a "Thank-you" for some lovely aprons she made me and my daughter.  She is a talented seamstress and I adore my new aprons.  My daughter took her apron on vacation with us to South Dakota.
