Welcome to my blog and this inspiring hop! I am Cathy Peck from Wichita Falls, Texas and I am so happy you are stopping by my blog. Hope you find some inspiration here.
Today I am sharing my class tool caddie that I made using chipboard that I saved form Paper Pumpkin Kits and Specialty Paper packs. I used retired Designer Series Papers to decorate the boxes and for the box construction corners.
After I design a layout and determine dimensions, I cut my chipboard bottom and sides. I keep the height at 2 1/4". The bottom size is about 5 1/2" x 5 1/2". Using construction strips cut from DSP I build the box. Then all the sides and bottoms are covered with DSP. . This makes a very sturdy box base.
To build the compartments is like a puzzle. I think about what I want the compartment, then I take a few measurements, start cutting & gluing. A video would be helpful for this part. I prefer that the tools not lay around so I like to keep them organized in little compartments -- makes them easier to locate.
When everything is done I just fill them up with whatever tools are needed for the class. Usually scissors, adhesives, a block, envelopes, white liners, etc.. My customers love them.

ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome box! I love making boxes, and this inspires me to think about changing the way I supply my class table (right now, everything used by all four students is in a single container.)
