Blessings of Home Coloring with Watercolor Pencils

Hey Crafty Friends!!! Today's card is a little artistic creation for me, not my typical card.  I used multiple tools and techniques to creat this card; sometimes it is just fun to play with all your tools. I have included extra photos to help show how I created this little gem.  Enjoy my colorful creation.

Card Details
  • Stamp - Blessings Of Home
  • Paper
    • Basic Black card base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score and fold at 4 1/4"
    • Basic White cardstock - 5 1/2" x 4 1/4", die cut with largest Deckled Rectanlge Die
    • Basic Black cardstock layer - 5 1/4" x 4" die cut with 2nd largest Deckled Rectangle Die
    • Basic White cardstock layer - 3" x 4 1/4" (2) die cut 4th largest Deckled Rectangle Die
  • Ink
    • Memento Tuxedo Black
    • Blackberry Bliss
    • Granny Apple Green
  • Other Stuff
    • Deckled Rectangle Dies - I love these dies, so fun.
    • Watercolor Pencils to color stamped image.
    • Stampin' Write Markers to add all the splatter to image.
    • Blending Brushes to color white layer under stamped layer.
    • Blender Pen to spread the watercolor pencil pigment over the stamped image.

Stamp image, let ink dry, then add color.

Use Blender Pens to genly spread color and fill in each image.

Watch video below to see how easy it is to watercolor with the pencils and a blender pen.  I am not a painter in any form or fashion, but I find this fun and easy.  You should give it a try.   Advance video to the 7:02 mark to see how this is done.

Add splatters to fill in white space using markers.
Blending Brushes and ink create a two tone background.

Card CASE: Happy Birthday Thinlet and Paper Pumpkin News

Today I am featuring the Happy Birthday Thinlet on two cards that I made for a Pink and Yellow swap.  I CASEd this card design from M. Deathrage on Pinterest.  Since I am mailing this overseas, to The Netherlands, I needed this card to be flat, so no dimensionals on this one.  I made two cards with Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo cardstock and watercolor pencils, no stamps at all.  So simple and easy to make.

Card Measurements:
Daffodil Delight Card Base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Melon Mambo Layer 5 1/4 x  4
 Whisper White  5 1/8 x  3 7/8

Card Measurements:
Melon Mambo Card Base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Daffodil Delight  Layer 5 1/4 x  4
 Whisper White  5 1/8 x  3 7/8

Technique Tip: I die cut the Happy Birthday, laid it on a sheet of copy paper and covered it with Versa Mark, applied Iridescent Ice Emboss Powder (sadly retired) and heated up with my Heat Tool.  Turned out beautiful.  You could do the same with glue and Dazzling Diamonds.
