#DOswts430 Sketch Inspiration Hop - featuring Gorgeously Made Bundle

Hey Friends!  It's time for the bi-monthly STARS Blog Hop.  The Gorgeously Made Bundle and the the vibrant Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper were perfect for this sketch.  These beautiful products will retire on 30 April 2024.

Card Details:

  • Stamp and Dies
    • Gorgeously Made
  • Paper
    • Highland Heather card base - 11" x 4 1/4". score @ 5 1/2", plus scrap for punched accent
    • Basic White layer - 4" x 5 1/4" (covered by DSP), plus scrap for die cut leaf
    • Fresh Freesia cardstock - scrap for sentiment
    • Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper (DSP) - 2" x 2 5/8"
  • Ink
    • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
  • Tools/Embellishments
    • Heartfelt Hexagon Punch
    • Stampin' Emboss & Die Cut Machine
    • Adhesive-Backed Sequin Trio
    • Mini Stampin' Dimensionals

I used glue to adhere the DSP rectangles to the Basic White 4" x 5 1/4" layer.  Using a base layer ensures the rectangles are lined up.  It is a method I have used use often.

    Monochrome Friday - Pumpkin Pie?

Hey Friends!! It is Pumpkin Pie for the Monochrome Friday Insta-Hop.  This color was a challenge for me.  I always associate it with fall, but I did not want to make a fall themed card.  So here it is.  Enjoy this Pumpkin Pie monochrome card creation.

    Card Details
    • Stamp and Dies
      • Sentimental Park
    • Paper
      • Pumpkin Pie 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score & fold at 4 1/4" , plus scrap for die cut sentiment
      • Basic White layers - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8", 5" x 3 3/4", plus scrap for die cut floral label
    • Ink
      • Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink
      • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad
    • Tools/Embellishment
      • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
      • Multipurpose Liquid Glue
      • Stampin' Dimensionals
      • Blending Brush
      • Plastic bag or wrap

Close up of plastic bag stamped background

The plastic bag stamped background really make this card less boring.  I chose to first lay down some Pumpkin Pie ink on white cardstock using a blending brush.  The added more ink using a crumpled up plastic bag.  I finished it off by splattering some Wink of Stella after the layer were attached to card base.  Quick video below shows how I did it.

Monochrome Friday Insta Hop Card - It's Poppy Parade on a Sunday

Hey Friends!! I made the Monochrome Friday Insta-Hop.  The color is Poppy Parade, a great shade of red that does really match the color of a red poppy.  I pulled out a stamp set from 2021, Artistically Inked and coordinating Artistic Dies for this card today.

        Card Details
        • Stamp
          • Artistically Inked
        • Paper
          • Poppy Parade 11" x 4 1/4"., score & fold at 5 1/2" , scrap for die cut leaves
          • Basic White layer - 5 1/4" x 4"
          • Basic White sentiment -1/2" x 4", die cut with 3rd largest Scalloped Contour die
        • Ink
          • Poppy Parade Ink Pad
          • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad
        • Tools/Embellishment
          • Artistic Dies Dies
          • Deckled Circle Dies
          • Mini Glue Dots
          • Multipurpose Liquid Glue

To create the stamped background I die cut a circle using Deckled Circle Dies from the same size paper as my Basic White layer.  Put the die cut layer on white layer and filled the circle.  This is one of my favorite ways to create a simple, but effective background.  The leaf die cut is secured with dots of glue along the stem to give the leaves as sense of movement.  The sentiment strip is attached with two glues dots - one on each end.
