Demonstrator Training Blog Hop - Country Floral TIEF

Hello crafty friends!! Welcome to Kylie Bertucci's training group blog hop for March 2019. We are a world-wide group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators working with Kylie from Australia to learn more about improving our Stampin' Up!! businesses.  Make sure to visit the other demonstrators in the hop for some great inspiration.

My card today was inspired by a great Australian Demonstrator and my friend Mandy Witherby and it features the Country Floral Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF) that is free (yes, FREE) with a qualifying purchase during Sale-A-Bration.  Enjoy!!!

Measurements:
Poppy Parade base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Whisper White embossed layer 5 1/4 x 4
Whisper White sentiment  2 x 4
Whisper White liner 5 1/4 x 4
Ink:
Poppy Parade, Melon Mambo,
Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green

TIP:  I applied ink to embossed flowers and leaves on the card with sponge daubers.  It does not have to be neat this is a very carefree ink application.  I also used the sponge daubers and Poppy Parade ink to add color to the Whisper White 5/8" Flax Ribbon.  This method allowed me to control the intensity of the ink and to have it look faded in some areas and darker in others.  The flax ribbon takes ink really well, so it is possible to make any color ribbon you need.

Case the Catty: Featuring Falling Flowers Stamps and May Flowers Framelits

A few weeks ago I was looking through my collection of SU catalogs for a card to CASE (Copy and Share Everything). Sometimes I just CASE the layout and there are times when I copy the project in it's entirety. So here is my CAESd card Falling Flowers stamp set and May Flowers Framelits.  I find the catalogs are a great source of inspiration for making cards and other projects.  This is my interpretation of the sample in the catalog.  Although I changed the layout a bit I used similar colors and the same stamps and die cuts.

Card Measurements:
Crushed Curry base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
 white (retired) layer  2 1/2 x 3 1/2
Melon Mambo 3 x 3
 Tempting Turquiose 3 x 3
Old Olive 3 x 3

Inspiration from 2016-2017 Stampin Up Catalog

TIP:  To give the flower extra dimension I used multiple layer of Stampin Dimensionals.   There is one dimensional layer under the Tempting Turquoise flowers.  The Melon Mambo has one layer of dimensionals and is placed on top of the Tempting Turquoise flowers to give a bit more lift. (Hope that is clear.) Also adding the Pearl Basic Jewels  draws you eye to the flowers as well.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps.  I hope you enjoyed my project featuring May Flowers Framelits and Falling Flowers Stamps.   Below is the same card in the 2017-2018 In Colors that made a few weeks ago. You can check it out on my blog here.

DOstamper Stars Thursday Challenge #172,

Welcome to another DoStamper Stars Thursday Challenge. This week it is a "Sketch Pad" challenge.

The multiple layers of this challenge were a bit difficult for me.  It took me hours to figure out a combination that I was happy with.  The English Garden DSP is so colorful and versatile that once I settled on using it the rest of the card came together easily.  The Tin of Cards stamp set worked really well for this card.

Card Recipe: All products SU unless otherwise noted
Card Stock:  Soft Suede base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
                     Hello Honey 3 3/4 x 3 and 2 1/4 x 1 3/4

DSP:  English Garden 2 x 4 1/4 & 3 1/2 x 2 3/4
