May Flowers and 2018-2020 In Colors

I really like the May Flowers Framelits and the Falling Flowers stamps in the Springtime.  It seems like this time of year I always bring them out and create cards with lots flowers.  I especially like them with the 2018-2020 In-Colors, these are my favorite set of In-Colors, I am particularly fond of the Blueberry Bushel.

Measurements:
Blueberry Bushel card base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Blueberry Bushel layer 4 1/2 x 3 1/4
Whisper White layer 4 3/8 x 4 1/8
Grapefruit Grove scraps
Pineapple Punch scraps
Call Me Clover scraps
Lovely Lipstick scraps
Blueberry Bushel scraps

Tip:  Stamp the large flourish of the Falling Flowers stamp set with same color ink as card base in opposite corners to add visual interest to the base.  Continue stamping the flowers and leaves in same ink color as cardstock and then die cut. The Whisper White layer was stamped with Artisan Textures and A Big Thank-You stamps using Sahara Sand ink.

Case the Catty: Featuring Falling Flowers Stamps and May Flowers Framelits

A few weeks ago I was looking through my collection of SU catalogs for a card to CASE (Copy and Share Everything). Sometimes I just CASE the layout and there are times when I copy the project in it's entirety. So here is my CAESd card Falling Flowers stamp set and May Flowers Framelits.  I find the catalogs are a great source of inspiration for making cards and other projects.  This is my interpretation of the sample in the catalog.  Although I changed the layout a bit I used similar colors and the same stamps and die cuts.

Card Measurements:
Crushed Curry base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
 white (retired) layer  2 1/2 x 3 1/2
Melon Mambo 3 x 3
 Tempting Turquiose 3 x 3
Old Olive 3 x 3

Inspiration from 2016-2017 Stampin Up Catalog

TIP:  To give the flower extra dimension I used multiple layer of Stampin Dimensionals.   There is one dimensional layer under the Tempting Turquoise flowers.  The Melon Mambo has one layer of dimensionals and is placed on top of the Tempting Turquoise flowers to give a bit more lift. (Hope that is clear.) Also adding the Pearl Basic Jewels  draws you eye to the flowers as well.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps.  I hope you enjoyed my project featuring May Flowers Framelits and Falling Flowers Stamps.   Below is the same card in the 2017-2018 In Colors that made a few weeks ago. You can check it out on my blog here.

Card Sketch Monday - Featuring Falling Flowers

On Monday, I try post a sketch challenge to get the creative juices flowing.   This week I am posting a card I made for a Swap-Bot card sketch swap.  For this swap the host chose sketch #99 from the Freshly Made Sketches  (FMS) archives.   I love the FMS blog and I have made cards using their sketches several times.  This sketch was clean and simple just the way I like it.  I masked off an area, added color with the awesome Watercolor Pencils and did a little micro splattering with my Aqua Painter and Basic Black ink pad.  With my background ready I stamped and die cut a few flowers from the May Flowers Framelits and added some (sadly retired) Enamel Dots.  All done!!

Card Measurements:
 Daffodil Delight base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Watercolor layer 5 x 3 3/4
Daffodil Delight flower  2 x 2
Bermuda Bay Flower 2 x 2
Melon Mambo flower 2 x 2

TIP:   I find the best tool to use for masking off an area to color is adhesive notes.  I have tried painters tape, masking tape and Washi tape.  While the others work sometimes, they have a tendency to really stick to the paper and I have had a few (actually many) disappointing results (paper tears).  So I stick with adhesive notes and I stock up when school supplies go on sale or ask for them at Christmas (nice stocking stuffer).

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps, today. I hope you enjoyed viewing my project featuring the fantastic Falling Flowers Stamps and May Flowers Thinlets.

Welcome to this weeks DOStamper Stars Thursday Color Challenge #234. This week we are having a "Product Spotlight" Challenge featuring the new 2017-2018 In Colors.  I love these new colors, especially the Tranquil Tide and Powder Pink.  I managed to get all 5 colors in cardstock and ink onto my card.  The Falling Flowers stamps and May Flowers Framelits are the perfect set for these colors, I love them all together in this card.  Hope you like it as well!!

Card Measurements:
 Tranquil Tide  base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Irresistibly Floral (retired) DSP layer 4 x 2 3/4
Powder Pink 3 x 3
Berry Burst 3 x 3
Lemon Lime Twist 4 x 4
Fresh Fig 2x2
Sentiment strip Whisper White 1 x 5

TIP:  Use a piece of Washi tape to hold the framelit in place if your do not have the magnet base plate for your Big Shot.  That is what I do.  Works great and does not tear up my cardstock.
