Card Challenge Monday: Merry Cafe - Just add Ink Challenge #374

Oh my, I have been absent for a bit.  Getting my three teenagers back in school was a bigger challenge than I anticipated these last couple of weeks.  Several schedule changes and multiple teacher meetings for a while I thought I worked at the school.  Today I have a sweet card to share with you using the Merry Café stamp set that will be available on 1 September.

Card Measurements:
Garden Green Card Base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Cherry Cobbler Layer 5 3/8 x  4 1/8
 Whisper White Embossed Layer  5 1/4 x  4
Be Merry DSP Accent 1 1/2 x 4

TIP:  Sponged the outer edges of the Whisper White lid and sentiment with Crumb Cake to made it stand out against the white embossed background.  A subtle touch, but it works.

I am featuring this card in the Just Add Ink blog weekly challenge #374.  Participating in weekly challenges are  great way to expand your creativity and share your creations with others.

Card CASE: Happy Birthday Thinlet and Paper Pumpkin News

Today I am featuring the Happy Birthday Thinlet on two cards that I made for a Pink and Yellow swap.  I CASEd this card design from M. Deathrage on Pinterest.  Since I am mailing this overseas, to The Netherlands, I needed this card to be flat, so no dimensionals on this one.  I made two cards with Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo cardstock and watercolor pencils, no stamps at all.  So simple and easy to make.

Card Measurements:
Daffodil Delight Card Base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Melon Mambo Layer 5 1/4 x  4
 Whisper White  5 1/8 x  3 7/8

Card Measurements:
Melon Mambo Card Base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Daffodil Delight  Layer 5 1/4 x  4
 Whisper White  5 1/8 x  3 7/8

Technique Tip: I die cut the Happy Birthday, laid it on a sheet of copy paper and covered it with Versa Mark, applied Iridescent Ice Emboss Powder (sadly retired) and heated up with my Heat Tool.  Turned out beautiful.  You could do the same with glue and Dazzling Diamonds.

DOStamper STARs Thursday Challenge #243: Carols of Christmas

Hello and welcome to this week's DOStamper Stars Thursday "Sketch Pad Challenge" #243 featuring Carols of Christmas stamp set and Be Merry Designer Series Paper.  The Carols of Christmas Bundle is available now for pre-order, in case you can't wait until 1 September when the new holiday catalog is released.  See below for details on how to order your Carols of Christmas Bundle.

Card Measurements:
Garden Green Card Base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Whisper White Layer 5 1/4 x 4
Be Merry DSP 1 7/16 x 3 3/4
Silver Glimmer Paper 4 x 4
Whisper White 3 1/2 x 3 1/2

TIP: The Silver Glimmer paper is covered with fine silver glitter that can make it difficult to adhere to other papers.  To get it the glimmer paper to stick in a layered grouping I find using the multi-purpose glue works best.  I apply a generous amount of glue to the back of the smaller paper or top layer and attach to the glimmer paper. Then I put a small book on top and let it dry for about 15 to 20 minutes.

It's a cloudy, muggy day in North Texas.  It has been raining all around us in Wichita Falls, we could use some rain but all we get is a few teasing dribbles.  So how about a card sketch using the Coffee Break Suite.  Today I am playing with Freshly Made Sketches # 299.   I love this suite, it is a keeper.
