Simple Sunday - It's a Card Case!!

Welcome crafty friends!!  I have had my eye on a particular card in the Holiday Catalog for weeks.  So today I decided I needed to CaSE it.  "Copy and Share Everything", a nice acronym we use in the crafting world when we want to copy someone else's work.  The card I am "Casing" today is on page 34, using Cup of Christmas stamp set.   I made a few changes to the sentiment to suite my style. There is something really cool about the Cup of Christmas stamp set, the cups are reversible!!

#DOSwts327 - Snowman Season Gift Box

Hello crafty friends.  Today I am sharing a very easy to make gift box that measures 2" x 4".  Inspired by Sam Hammond, UK demonstrator.  This little box is great for small gifts, treats or just for a decor piece.  Mine will hold a little pocket knife for one of my kids at Christmas.

Measurements:
Whisper White Thick 11" x 4", scrap for sentiment
Let It Snow Speciality DSP 1 7/8" x 3 7/8", scrap for snowman
Coastal Cabana scrap for sentiment
Soft Suede scrap for snowman arms

Tip:  Over the years I have picked up some great tips for making boxes.  The one tip I use most is creating layout with notes regarding measurements, scoring, and cutting.  For this box, you only need to put adhere in 2 places with either liquid glue or Tear and Tape. The top opening of the box is held closed with the ribbon.  See diagram below- score and  fold on all lines and cut out darkened areas.

Stars, Stars, Stars!! Another Simple Sunday Card.

Hi crafty friends!!  Welcome to another Simple Sunday post.  This last week was not the best for crafting ot blogging at my house.  Our foundation was being lifted this week and the noise was unbearable, jack hammer, sawing concrete, and digging.   They started Monday in freezing cold weather and finished Thursday in the sunshine.  This is a continuation of a long renovation project for us.  I think the driveway and sidewalks are next -- more noise.

My project for today is super simple -- card base, stamp set, and some ink.  Even though this is an easy technique, I find one-layer cards to be the most challenging to layout.  Hope you enjoy this simple holiday card.

Here is how I put this one together:

  • Stamp the larger stars in Night of Navy,
  • Stamp over stars with small cluster using Sahara Sand
  • Stamp sentiment in Night of Navy
  • Finish with splatterings of Wink of Stella

Card Measurements:
Whisper White Thick 5 1/2 x 4 1/4"

Ink:
Night of Navy, Sahara Sand, Wink of Stella

TIP:  I rarely use white cardstock for a card base, but when I use a white card base I use Whisper White Thick cardstock (140272).  It is thicker than our standard white cardstock (which I use a lot for liners/layers/sentiments) and perfect for card bases and boxes.
