Happy Thanksgiving - Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Happy Thanksgiving!!!  Hope all is well where ever you may be.  At holiday time I am a baking fanatic.  I have spent the last week making biscotti for friends and family.  Today I am sharing with you a packaging idea that worked great for my biscotti or any cookie.

 

Supplies needed:

 

Punches: 1", 1 1/4". 1 1/2", 1 3/4"

Paper: Very Vanilla, Painted Autumn DSP, Cajun Craze

Ribbon: Your choice (mine is retired)

Ink: Cajun Craze

Stamps: September Paper Pumpkin Layered Leaves

Paper Pumpkin is a gift that keeps on giving.  The stamps in the September kit, Layering Leaves, are perfect for Thanksgiving and Fall.  I absolutely love this kit, the leaves are gorgeous and it is one of my keepers.  Here is another treat bag using the leaves from the kit.  I also stamped leaves from the Colorful Seasons kit -- another favorite.   I used Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Soft Suede inks on this one.

DOStamper STARs Thursday Challenge #257 - Christmas Pines Treat Bag

Hello and welcome to this week's DOStamper Stars Thursday "Home Sweet Home Challenge" #256.  This weeks photo inspiration is a wrapped Christmas gift and I have been waiting for this opportunity to create a Christmas gift bag.  It can be used for candy, cookies, lip balms, gift cards, etc.  I can even put some of my homemade biscotti in it.

Soft Suede 4 x 4  (pinecone and large oval)

Early Espresso 3 x 3 (pinecone)

Cherry Cobbler 2 x 3 (ribbon bow)_

TIP:  Kraft gift bags no longer available from Stampin UP, but you can easily find them at your local craft store or on-line.  I just happen to have a few packages left over from a previous project.

DOStamper STARs Thursday Challenge #256 - Painted Autumn Wreath Color Challenge

Hello and welcome to this week's DOStamper Stars Thursday "Color My World Challenge" #255 featuring Real Red, Garden Green and Whisper White (my choice) colors.  Terrific colors for traditional Christmas cards.  If you have been reading this blog, you know I love to make cards with these great colors. I chose the Painted Harvest stamp set to create the wreath background. I stamped the wreaths Garden Green and Always Artichoke inks.  Used Real Red ink for berries along with a bit of Wink of Stella.

TIP: I used the Painted Harvest stamps set to stamp the larger flower in Garden Green and then stamped over twice with smaller flower using Always Artichoke.  The flower in the stamp set makes a great wreath.  Pinterest has great samples.

Sunday Card Share - Father Christmas

I am back to regular posting.  My friend has enough baskets made for the annual craft fair hosted by the Sheppard Air Force Base Spouses.   I hope to post a few pictures of her baskets once we get them set up to sell on the 11th.  For this Sunday's card share I am featuring the Father Christmas stamp set in the annual catalog. Here are three cards I received made with that set.  So beautiful.

Christmas Count Down Week 5 - Merry Little Labels & Colorful Seasons

For this week's Count Down to Christmas I am featuring Colorful Seasons and Merry Little Labels stamp sets.  To create the background I used crumpled tissue paper to apply the Pool Party and Soft Sky ink to the Whisper White card stock. Then I stamped some of the Colorful Seasons snowflakes in Marina Mist. Makes me yearn for cooler weather, we have had a bit of heat wave here in North Texas, predicted to hit 90 on Sunday, 5 November. 

 

Card Measurements:

Silver Foil Strips x 4 1/4 x 3/4

Tip:  I consider the Silver Foil paper a very precious consumable.  To conserve my stock of Silver Foil paper I only used strips of 4 1/4 x 3/4 to accent my focal point.  Saving paper for other projects.
