DOStamper STARs Thursday Challenge #190 - Product Spotlight - Love You Lots

Welcome to this week's DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we are having a "Product Spotlight Challenge".  The product for this week are the exclusive Host Sets that are only available with Stampin Rewards.  You can see them on pages 198 - 200 in the current catalog.   

 

 

 

For my card this week I choose the "Love You Lots" set.  I have had an affinity for ladybugs ever since we adopted our children form China and hedgehogs remind me of my years living in England while I was serving in the USAF.  This is one kit I knew I had to have.  Did you know that ladybugs can be yellow, orange or red?  I did not know that until I witnessed the different colored ladybugs after we moved to Texas.  To learn how I made this little label with the Decorative Label Punch click here to watch the video.

Paper Pumpkin Friday - July 2015 Alt Card - Thanks A Latte

Oh my, I am so happy to make this post.  I have waited a year to get my hands on the July 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit, Thanks A Latte. I skipped ordering last July and boy, did I regret it.  I just adore this little stamp set and I do love a latte on occasion, so I was truly happy when I won it on EBay.  Now I need to find a refill. LOL!!

All the cards are modifications of the original project.  On a few I added an orange corrugated  layer from the May 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit, Many Manly Occasions.  I really like that corrugated cardstock it adds great texture to any project.    I also layered one with just Basic Grey, another with Basic Grey and Tangerine Tango, and one other with Wild Wasabi cardstock and ribbon.  The box I made with 12 x 12 Basic Black cardstock using the envelop punch board.  It only took me one time to get the box  together following instructions I found on YouTube -- usually it takes.   I really enjoyed this kit.  Can't wait to see what is in my July 2016 kit.  I love surprises. Paper Pumpkin Friday - Happy Birthday Alternative Cards

The May Paper Pumpkin kit, Many Manly Occasions, is so much fun and so versatile.  Today I am sharing two alternative birthday cards I made using the new Affectionately Yours DSP and these cards are not many alt all. 

Card Details

• Start with Basic Black card base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
• Remove front of card base from kit and trim to 5 1/4 x 4
• Attach piece of Affectionately Yours DSP cut 5 1/4 x 4 to back of card front and attached to Basic Black card base
• Added Calypso Coral butterflies that were slightly colored with A Wink of Stella silver and embellished with a few Pearls
• Stamped Many Manly Occasions sentiment with Basic Black ink  
• Attached strip of Affectionately Yours DSP below sentiment cut sentiment to 3/8 x  4 

 





Card Details

• Whisper White  card base from kit measuring 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
• Attach piece of Affectionately Yours DSP cut 5 1/4 x 4 to back of card front
• Attached the "Happy" sentiment and a few Pool Party stars
• Many Manly Occasions sentiment stamped in Basic Black ink

2014-2016 In Color - It's an English Garden

Earlier this week I posted about the upcoming retirement of the 2014-2016 In Color group.  There are some wonderful colors in this bunch and it is hard to believe they will soon be gone.   Here are some cards I made using each color, Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow and Tangelo Twist.  I added some  English Garden DSP and flowers from the Blossom Bunch punch to complete the set.

Tip: The Regals Candy Dots I used are too large for the smallest blossom.  To give the small blossom some color in the center I used my blender pen and Always Artichoke ink pad to darken the center of the flower.  Then I added a drop of Crystal Effects, let it dry overnight and now it matches the others flowers.
