DOStamper STARs Thursday Challenge #198 - Product Spotlight - Washi Tape

 It's time for the weekly DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. Today it is a "Product Spotlight" challenge using one of the Designer Washi Tape sets that are in the current catalog.   My choice for this project is called Affectionately Yours. 

 

• Make  5 1/2 x 4 1/4card base from Watermelon Wonder then set aside
• Cut Whisper White 5 x 3 3/4 and add three strips of Affectionately Yours Designer Washi Tape and attach to base with Fast Fuse (my new favorite adhesive)
• Die cut three medium flowers from the May Flowers Framelits in Watermelon Wonder then use Fast Fuse to hold them together
• Die cut two leaves in Cucumber Crush and use Fast Fuse to attach leaves to the flower
• Stamp Petite Petals flower on Night of navy cardstock with Whisper White Craft ink, let dry then punch out flower, glue to center of larger flower and add an Enamel Shape to center
• Attach flower to card front with dimensions
• Stamp with sentiment  from the Thought Branches stamp set in Night of Navy ink wel to center of flower
• All done!!

DOStamper STARs Thursday Challenge #191 - Sketch Pad Challenge - Flower Shop

Welcome to this week's DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we are having a "Sketch Pad Challenge" inspired by the sketch below.

   

 

 

I kept this card very simple to follow the sketch that I adore.  Finally used some of the vellum I got during Sal-A-Bration, I love the images on the vellum.  Maybe  it comes back in other patterns, perhaps for the holidays.   I hope this heat is getting better for most of you, we are at about normal here in North Texas averaging in the mid 90's.  My grass is starting to turn brown, boo hoo, hope we get rain soon.

DOStamper STARs Thursday Challenge #185 - Home Sweet Home Challenge - Timeless Textures

Welcome to this week's DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we are having a "Home Sweet Home" challenge using the picture below as inspiration. Don't forget to scroll down to visit the other Stars creations for this week.   

 

 

 

The butterflies caught my eye in this challenge.  Although, I am not particularly fond of butterfly cards I have found myself using them a lot lately in my card making.  Maybe I like to give butterfly cards, not receive them, hmm... I originally made this card earlier this week for a Pink and Brown themed swap on Swap-Bot. This is the third card I have made with this layout/design and it worked perfectly for this challenge.  The Timeless Textures stamp makes a wonderful random background in Soft Suede.  I chose to use Soft Suede because the Chocolate Chip ink looked almost black to me on the Pink Pirouette.  The ribbon is Early Espresso seam binding (retired) and the butterflies are from the long ago retired Butterfly Wings Embosslits.

DOStamper STARs Thursday Challenge #184 - Color My Challenge - Layering Love

First,  I must say this is a totally CASEd card from Rosanne Mulhern, a super talented card maker, that I found on  Pinterest.   It was love a first sight and I knew I had to give it a try with this color combo.  I really do not like to work with Basic Black, unless it is ink but I decided to make the black standout instead of being an accent color in this card.  The sentiment is embossed and I softened the edges of the top layer with a Timeless Textures stamp and Whisper White ink. I am extremely happy with the results.   Tomorrow I will be showcasing this card in my card class, can't wait to see the color combos the girls come up with.   Who doesn't love Pinterest.
