DOStamper STARs Thursday Challenge #240: Artistically Asian Color Challenge

Welcome to this weeks DOStamper Stars Thursday "Color My World Challenge" #240 featuring Old Olive, Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzzleberry. Again I am using the Artistically Asian stamp set, I am even using the same stamp as an earlier post.

Card Measurements:
 Rich Razzleberry  base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Old Olive  3 7/8 x 5 1/8
Sweet Sugarplum layer  3 3/4  x 5
Rich Razzleberry layer 2 1/8 x 3 1/8
Whisper White stamped layer 2 x 3

TIP: Add dimensionals between layers to give the card height and interest.  I always put dimensionals on the same layer as my ribbon to prevent a "lumpy" card front.

Card Sketch Monday: Artistically Asian with FMS 296

I love the Artistically Asian stamp set.  It is a gorgeous and simplistic, that I think does not get a lot of love from stampers.  It is still available in the current SU catalog and I want to highlight it this week on my blog starting with Freshly Made Sketches challenge #296.

  Card Measurements:
 Pool Party base 5 1/2 x 4 1/
Pool Party layer 3 5/8 x 3 5/8
Whisper White layer  3 1/2 x 3 1/2
Dazzling Diamonds strip 1 x 4

Technique Tip: Stamp off Work of Art  background stamp once before stamping onto the Whisper White layer.  Stamping from bottom to top three time without re-inking allowing the layers to get lighter.   The top stamp is barely visible in the picture.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps, today. I hope you enjoyed viewing my card highlighting my much neglected Artistically Asian stamp set.  The addition of the Dazzling Diamonds Shimmer paper makes it a bit special.  FYI: Stampin Up Bonus Days are back for the month of July. Earn in July, Spend in August. Check it out here.

3-D Sunday: Stamped Coasters

I missed posting last week, we were in San Antonio for the Texas State Youth Bowling Tournament and I forgot to take my laptop.  All three of my kids participated this year and the final results will be out on Monday, 6/26.  After the tournament we spent a few days in Austin.  Loved Austin and we plan to visit again.  If you ever go there I suggest Mandola's Italian Market in the Triangle area of Austin -- we ate there twice!  Yummy!!

Here is a very simple project using blank, unfinished tiles.  I picked up my tiles from Michaels Craft Store, a pack of 4 for $3.99, less with 40% off coupon.  Oh so easy!!  Remove any dust from tile, stamp using the archival inks only, I used Stampin Up Basic Black and Basic Gray plus a few others in colors from another company.  Any stamp set will work for this technique it is all about the message you want to create.  To finish I covered the tiles with several coats of Myland's Clear Wax, absolutely love Myland's it is great for craft projects and furniture. No paper or scissors required just ink!!

Background - Gorgeous Grunge
Image & Sentiment - Artistically Asian

 Awesomely Artistic
Background & Sentiment - Basic Gray
Flowers - Basic Black

TIP: To cover tiles with wax I used the following steps:
  • Apply thin layer of wax using brush, let dry about 30 minutes, buff with old cloth
  • Repeat at least 2 to 3 more times
  • Be sure to wax edges
  • I did not wax bottom

Background & Sentiment - Awesomely Artistic
Focal Point - Dragonfly Dreams

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps, today. I hope you enjoyed viewing my stamped tile project featuring the Artistically Asian, Awesomely Artistic and Dragonfly Dreams stamps sets.  This is such and easy project hope you give it a try.

DOStamper STARs Thursday Challenge #186 - Product Spotlight - 2016-2018 In-Colors

Welcome to this week's DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we are having a "Product Spotlight" challenge using the 2016-2018 In-Color products. I love the new in-color, especially the Dapper Denim and  I managed to get every one of the new colors in my card. Woohoo!

Let's just say I really love the Artistically Asian stamp set, I love it so much I accidentally ordered three.  So glad Stampin' Up has a great exchange program.  For this card I used the masking tape technique with 1 inch and 1 1/2 inch masking tape to create a colored background with Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, and Sweet Sugarplum.  Stamped the bamboo image and characters in Basic Black Archival Ink.  Layered that with Emerald Envy and Whisper White onto a Dapper Demin card base.  Added a few Neutrals Dots (retired) to finish the card.  I love this card.  It reminds me of the simple, yet beautiful artwork I saw in Japan and China.  My hubby and I were fortunate to live in Japan for 8 years, where we met and got married, and to visit China 3 times to pick up our kiddos.

Card Recipe:

Card Stock: Dapper Denim Base, Whisper White, Emerald Envy
Stamp/s: Artistically Asian
Ink: Basic Black Archival Ink, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum
Accessories: Tombow Mono Glue, Dimensionals
