Card Sktech Monday: Lots of Layering Love!!

Well, we have had temperatures over a 100 for the last 4 days and more to come this week.  Hopefully, it won't burn up my new lawn.  So what is a girl to do when it is so hot outside?  Stay in the cool and make cards.  For my Card Sketch Monday I decided to play with Angie Juda's Paper and Ink Sketches #20.  You can find Angie's sketch on her Facebook group  page.  This time around I decided to focus on an entire stamp set, Layering Love.  I made four cards using the 2017-2018 In-Colors, Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Powder Pink and Tranquil Tide. I love the message from this set, these days we all can use a bit more love.

Card Measurements:
Card Base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
DSP Layer 5 1/4 x 4
TIEF Strip 5 1/4 x 2
Whisper White
Tranquil Tide
Powder Pink
Fresh Fig
Berry Burst

TIP: The Fresh Fig and Tranquil Tide ender strips were trimmed to 1 3/4 inches wide.  It looked better with the smaller die cut sentiments.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps, today.  Layering Love is a great stamp set that makes a big statement.   I hope you enjoyed viewing four creations using the Stitched Shapes, Layering Ovals, Layering Squares and Layering Circles Framelits.   FYI: Stampin Up Bonus Days are back for the month of July. Earn in July, Spend in August. Check it out here.

DOStamper STARs Thursday Challenge #240: Artistically Asian Color Challenge

Welcome to this weeks DOStamper Stars Thursday "Color My World Challenge" #240 featuring Old Olive, Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzzleberry. Again I am using the Artistically Asian stamp set, I am even using the same stamp as an earlier post.

Card Measurements:
 Rich Razzleberry  base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Old Olive  3 7/8 x 5 1/8
Sweet Sugarplum layer  3 3/4  x 5
Rich Razzleberry layer 2 1/8 x 3 1/8
Whisper White stamped layer 2 x 3

TIP: Add dimensionals between layers to give the card height and interest.  I always put dimensionals on the same layer as my ribbon to prevent a "lumpy" card front.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps, today. I hope you enjoyed viewing my card highlighting my much neglected Artistically Asian stamp set for the second time this week.  I have one more to share with you later . FYI: Stampin Up Bonus Days are back for the month of July. Earn in July, Spend in August. Check it out here.

Card Sketch Monday: Artistically Asian with FMS 296

I love the Artistically Asian stamp set.  It is a gorgeous and simplistic, that I think does not get a lot of love from stampers.  It is still available in the current SU catalog and I want to highlight it this week on my blog starting with Freshly Made Sketches challenge #296.

  Card Measurements:
 Pool Party base 5 1/2 x 4 1/
Pool Party layer 3 5/8 x 3 5/8
Whisper White layer  3 1/2 x 3 1/2
Dazzling Diamonds strip 1 x 4

Technique Tip: Stamp off Work of Art  background stamp once before stamping onto the Whisper White layer.  Stamping from bottom to top three time without re-inking allowing the layers to get lighter.   The top stamp is barely visible in the picture.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps, today. I hope you enjoyed viewing my card highlighting my much neglected Artistically Asian stamp set.  The addition of the Dazzling Diamonds Shimmer paper makes it a bit special.  FYI: Stampin Up Bonus Days are back for the month of July. Earn in July, Spend in August. Check it out here.

Watercolor Wash Card: Window Shopping Stamp Set

Each year Stampin Up offers an Incentive Trip to Demonstrators that have accumulated a specific number of points based on sales.  The trips include airfare, accommodations, food, and some gifts.  This year's incentive trip was to Thailand so I chose colors that made me think of Asia and reminds me of pictures I have seen of Thailand in books and on TV.  I think hot, steamy and warm colors, like Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango and Melon Mambo with some Copper Foil for a bit of opulence.  One day I will be making that trip, I am shooting for the 2019 cruise of the Greek Isles.

  Card Measurements:
 Melon Mambo base 5 1/2 x 4 1/
Crushed Curry layer 5 1/4 x 4
Shimmery White 3 3/4 x  5
Copper Foil paper 4 x 4
Whisper White  4 x 4

Technique Tip: Shimmery White paper can be treated like watercolor paper.  I used my aqua painter with Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Tangerine Tango inks to create this water colored background.  Be sure to spritz the paper with a bit of water before you start, it helps to spread the colors.   Let dry and then place under a heavy book to flatten.  The shimmer of the paper is still visible through the ink, I really love this Shimmery White cardstock.

I chose the sentiment from the Window Shopping stamp set because that is what Stampin Up is to me a great friend.  I have meet some fantastic and talented people.  It is a great community of folks that love to Create, Share and Inspire each other.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps, today. I hope you enjoyed viewing my card celebrating Stampin Up's annual incentive trip to Thailand.  The Copper Foil paper and Copper embossing make this card extra special.  FYI: Stampin Up Bonus Days are back for the month of July. Earn in July, Spend in August. Check it out here.

DOStamper STARs Thursday Challenge #239: Pool Party Daisy Delight

Welcome to this weeks DOStamper Stars Thursday "Sketch Challenge" Challenge #239. For the second time this week I am Daisy Delight stamps and Pool Party ink.  I even made another Whisper White and Pool Part Daisy.  I guess I am in a Pool Party kind of mood.  If you are wondering about my new front lawn it looks fabulous.

 Card Measurements:
 Pool Party base 5 1/2 x 4 1/
Pool Party layer 5 1/4 x 4
Delightful Daisy  DSP 1 x 6  and 1/2 x 6
Whisper White  3 x 3 (3 each)

DSC#239

TIP:  To give the Daisy a bit of dimension, use the bone folder to add a bit of curve to the petals.  Being careful not to pull to hard causing a petal to tear off. (Happened twice while making this card). Also layering the flower adds dimension as well, here I used three layer to create this flower.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps, today. I hope you enjoyed viewing my DO Stampers STARS Thursday Card Sketch Challenge featuring the Daisy Delight and Pool Party.

Case That Card: Wood Words

Okay, it has been so hot and my lawn has been striped in preparation for new sod.  That 5-year drought in Texas ruined our grass.  New front yard this year, next year we attack the backyard. Of course it is super hot this week.  I guess as long as I water the sod on schedule it should be fine. That is what the landscaper said. Hopefully, I can share a photo of my new lawn on my next post.

Today I am sharing a card that I CaSEd (Copy and Share Everything) from Pinterest, to be more specific that I CaSEd from Valerie Moody on Pinterest.  When I saw her card (you can see it here) I was in love and I needed to make a red and white card for a swap, so life was very good that day.  Here is my card.

Card Measurements:
 Real Red base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Whisper White layer 5 1/4 x 4
Wood Textures DSP 4 x 2 3/4

TIP:   After I stamped the chicken image on Whisper White and die cut it with the Stitched Shapes circle  I took a wet paint brush ran it across the Smoky Slate ink pad and then flicked it on the image.  It took away some of the starkness of the white cardstock and blended with background DSP.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps, today. I hope you enjoyed viewing my card CASE project featuring the Wood Words Bundle.  Hands down this has to be one of my favorite bundles and I have yet to make a crate.   FYI:  Stampin Up Bonus Days are back for the month of July. Earn in July, Spend in August.  Check it out here.

One more thing, I am having a giveaway on my cross stitch blog Tea-n-Stitches.  Check it out if you are interested in cross stitch, I am offering a chance to receive a Lizzie Kate pattern or card with gift bag.

Card Sketch Monday: Freshly Made Sketches #295 - Daisy Delight

Here is another Card Sketch Monday, today I am playing with Freshly Made Sketches #295. For this card I created my own background using the Ink Swiping technique that I learned about on You Tube here.   I used Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Pool Party inks to create the background on Whisper White.  To finish it off a Pool Party daisy and the Daisy Delight Bundle.  OOPS!! I failed to  link my post to FMS blog on time.  Here it is if you want to see sketch and all the other great card creations.

Card Measurements:
 Old Olive base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Daffodil Delight layer 5 3/8 x 4 1/8
Whisper White layer 5 1/4 x 4
Pool Party strip 1 1/4 x 4
Delightful Daisy DSP 1 x 4
Whisper White 3 x 3 (3 each for flower)

TIP: To make the background I cut my Whisper White piece bigger, about 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 and  used removable adhesive to hold my paper in place while doing the ink swiping.  Once I was satisified with my swipes I cut down my paper picking the optimum image for my card.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps, today. I hope you enjoyed viewing my project featuring the Daisy Delight and ink swiping.  FYI:  Stampin Up Bonus Days are back for the month of July. Earn in July, Spend in August.  Check it out here.
