Card Challenge Monday - Christmas Card Challenges week #5

Every Monday, I try to participate in different card challenges, today I am playing at Christmas Card Challenges blog and the word prompt for  week #5 is SNOW.   I pulled out a card I made a few weeks ago for a swap on Swap-Bot that is perfect card for this week's challenge.   It is a shaker card using the November Paper Pumpkin, Wonderful Winterland, stamp set and some Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

Why am I featuring a Paper Pumpkin stamp set from November?  Too show you that Paper Pumpkin stamp sets have use long after the kit consumables are gone.   This stamp set is one of my all time favorites and I plan to use it a lot.  Seriously, Paper Pumpkin is truly a great value for the money.  A monthly subscription is $20 and that includes shipping.  Everything you need to complete project is in one small box.

  • Started with 8 1/2 x 5 1/5 piece of Whisper White cardstock folded in half for card base.
  • Stamp a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Night of Navy cardstock with Whisper White craft ink using background stamp from Wonderful Winterland stamp set.  Let dry.
  • Once dry add white ribbon and adhere to card base with Stampin Dimensionals.
  • Dye cut frame using Layering Squares Framelits and adhered piece of Window Sheet.
  • Stamp 2 1/2 square of Whisper White cardstock with Night of Navy, Pear Pizzazz, Smoky Slate and Garden Green ink.  Add gold Metallic Enamel Shapes star.  Cover the edge of the cardstock with  Foam Adhesive Strips
  • Pour some Dazzling Diamonds inside of the foam strips and remove adhesive protective strips and attach frame securely.   Use Multipurpose glue to attach shaker portion to card.
  • Shake and enjoy!!

Paper Pumpkin Friday - Wonderful Winterland

November Kit

The November Paper Pumpkin  kit, Wonderful Winterland, is so wonderful!!  I love the blue color, the images and the stamp set.  You have probably seen all the fabulous cards and things made with this kit all over Pinterest and on Facebook.

Today I am sharing my card creation from the kit.  I decided to make all my cards the same for an up coming swap.  The  vellum was stamped with the background stamp from the Christmas Pines stamp set with Whisper White Craft Ink.  Then I added a Dapper Denim background layer and some Dazzling Diamonds on the hill.  Attached the layers to an a retired piece of silver cardstock.  All done!!

DOStamper STARs Thursday Challenge #208: Christmas Pines

Welcome to this weeks DOStamper Stars Thursday Challenge. This week we are having  "Color My World" challenge featuring Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake.  I choose to use slightly different shades of red and green today since they are my favorite at this time of year.

  • Start with a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 Real Red card base.
  • Cut a piece of Crumb Cake 5 1/4 x 4 layer, then add some stripes with the Seasonal Decorative Mask and Crumb Cake ink.   Attach to base with Fast Fuse.
  • For the  next layers cut Real Read 4 3/4 x 3 1/2  and Whisper White 4 5/8 x 3 3/8.  Adhere Whisper White to Real Red layer with glue. Attach to base.
  • Stamp Pine Branches randomly in top left corner I used Always Artichoke and Old Olive.  Use Crumb Cake Ink to add background images.
  • Die cut a Pine Branches, Mistletoe, Berry Stem and Pinecones in coordinating colors. Attached to card with glue dots and dimensionals.
  • Add Wink of Stella to Pine cones and a Linen Thread bow.
  • All done!!
This card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest and tweaked a bit to make it my own.  I love, love the Christmas Pines bundle it is so versatile.  I hope you like this card as much as I do.

More Paper Pumpkin Cards - Season Of Gratitude

Here are two more cards I made with the October Paper Pumpkin Kit, Season of Gratitude.  I still have a few more to make using all the lovely leaves that came in the kit.  I love that everything you need is in the kit, as well as directions to complete the project.  For this kit I made all 8 cards as directed.  Yes, the kit contained enough material for 8 cards.  Stamp set, ink block, card base and envelope, twine, foam layering strips and dimensionals, glue dots, die cut shapes, all for $19.99 plus tax.  Shipping is free.

The card above is altered slightly from the original instructions.  I cut two labels using Lots of Labels die set in Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry.  Added stamp and twine to the layers to completed the card.  The card below is an awesome Autumn card, instructions are provided.

  1. Start with a Crumb Cake base measuring 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.
  2. Cut Crumb Cake layer 3 3/4 x 5, attached 1 x 5 piece cut from kit envelope.
  3. Stamp sentiment on 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 Very Vanilla CS with Early Espresso and sponge edges  with Soft Suede.  Attached to Crumb Cake base.
  4. Added some linen thread, left over from another PP kit.
  5. Colored three leaves with Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Soft Suede. Attached with Dimensionals and added Clear Wink of Stella to each leaf.
  6. Randomly placed a few sequins from kit and all finished.
