Hello and welcome to this week's DOStamper Stars Thursday "Home Sweet Home Challenge" #241 featuring Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper.  So exactly what is a "Home Sweet Home Challenge"?  The group host post a home décor picture from a magazine or one-line ad for us to use as a guide.  We can use any element, color, theme or an object, in the photo for inspiration. Can you tell which element inspired me?

Card Measurements:
Old Olive Card Base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Daffodil Delight Layer 3 x 4 3/4
Old Olive Layer 2 7/8 x 3 5/8
Delightful Daisy DSP 2 3/4 x 3 1/2
Whisper White scrap for sentiment

TIP:  When using  DSP as the focal point, as I did here.  Be careful to choose the best image to highlight on your card. Think before you cut to minimize was.   It took me a few minutes to decide where to cut my DSP.  I think I got it right, looks like I could have stamped it myself.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps, today.  I just love this card, so simple to create in a time crunch.  The Old Olive and Daffodil Delight are the perfect pair for the Delightful Daisy DSP.  So glad I purchased extras packages of this fantastic paper.  FYI: Stampin Up Bonus Days are back, but only for a few more days. Your opportunity to earn Bonus Day Coupon ends at 11:50 (MT) July 31st.   Earn in July, Spend in August. Card Sketch Monday: Artistically Asian with FMS 296

I love the Artistically Asian stamp set.  It is a gorgeous and simplistic, that I think does not get a lot of love from stampers.  It is still available in the current SU catalog and I want to highlight it this week on my blog starting with Freshly Made Sketches challenge #296.

  Card Measurements:
 Pool Party base 5 1/2 x 4 1/
Pool Party layer 3 5/8 x 3 5/8
Whisper White layer  3 1/2 x 3 1/2
Dazzling Diamonds strip 1 x 4

Technique Tip: Stamp off Work of Art  background stamp once before stamping onto the Whisper White layer.  Stamping from bottom to top three time without re-inking allowing the layers to get lighter.   The top stamp is barely visible in the picture.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps, today. I hope you enjoyed viewing my card highlighting my much neglected Artistically Asian stamp set.  The addition of the Dazzling Diamonds Shimmer paper makes it a bit special.  FYI: Stampin Up Bonus Days are back for the month of July. Earn in July, Spend in August. Check it out here.

Case That Card: Wood Words

Okay, it has been so hot and my lawn has been striped in preparation for new sod.  That 5-year drought in Texas ruined our grass.  New front yard this year, next year we attack the backyard. Of course it is super hot this week.  I guess as long as I water the sod on schedule it should be fine. That is what the landscaper said. Hopefully, I can share a photo of my new lawn on my next post.

Today I am sharing a card that I CaSEd (Copy and Share Everything) from Pinterest, to be more specific that I CaSEd from Valerie Moody on Pinterest.  When I saw her card (you can see it here) I was in love and I needed to make a red and white card for a swap, so life was very good that day.  Here is my card.

Card Measurements:
 Real Red base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Whisper White layer 5 1/4 x 4
Wood Textures DSP 4 x 2 3/4

TIP:   After I stamped the chicken image on Whisper White and die cut it with the Stitched Shapes circle  I took a wet paint brush ran it across the Smoky Slate ink pad and then flicked it on the image.  It took away some of the starkness of the white cardstock and blended with background DSP.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps, today. I hope you enjoyed viewing my card CASE project featuring the Wood Words Bundle.  Hands down this has to be one of my favorite bundles and I have yet to make a crate.   FYI:  Stampin Up Bonus Days are back for the month of July. Earn in July, Spend in August.  Check it out here.

One more thing, I am having a giveaway on my cross stitch blog Tea-n-Stitches.  Check it out if you are interested in cross stitch, I am offering a chance to receive a Lizzie Kate pattern or card with gift bag.

Card Sketch Monday: Freshly Made Sketches #295 - Daisy Delight

Here is another Card Sketch Monday, today I am playing with Freshly Made Sketches #295. For this card I created my own background using the Ink Swiping technique that I learned about on You Tube here.   I used Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Pool Party inks to create the background on Whisper White.  To finish it off a Pool Party daisy and the Daisy Delight Bundle.  OOPS!! I failed to  link my post to FMS blog on time.  Here it is if you want to see sketch and all the other great card creations.

Card Measurements:
 Old Olive base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Daffodil Delight layer 5 3/8 x 4 1/8
Whisper White layer 5 1/4 x 4
Pool Party strip 1 1/4 x 4
Delightful Daisy DSP 1 x 4
Whisper White 3 x 3 (3 each for flower)

TIP: To make the background I cut my Whisper White piece bigger, about 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 and  used removable adhesive to hold my paper in place while doing the ink swiping.  Once I was satisified with my swipes I cut down my paper picking the optimum image for my card.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps, today. I hope you enjoyed viewing my project featuring the Daisy Delight and ink swiping.  FYI:  Stampin Up Bonus Days are back for the month of July. Earn in July, Spend in August.  Check it out here.

Case the Catty: Featuring Falling Flowers Stamps and May Flowers Framelits

A few weeks ago I was looking through my collection of SU catalogs for a card to CASE (Copy and Share Everything). Sometimes I just CASE the layout and there are times when I copy the project in it's entirety. So here is my CAESd card Falling Flowers stamp set and May Flowers Framelits.  I find the catalogs are a great source of inspiration for making cards and other projects.  This is my interpretation of the sample in the catalog.  Although I changed the layout a bit I used similar colors and the same stamps and die cuts.

Card Measurements:
Crushed Curry base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
 white (retired) layer  2 1/2 x 3 1/2
Melon Mambo 3 x 3
 Tempting Turquiose 3 x 3
Old Olive 3 x 3

Inspiration from 2016-2017 Stampin Up Catalog

TIP:  To give the flower extra dimension I used multiple layer of Stampin Dimensionals.   There is one dimensional layer under the Tempting Turquoise flowers.  The Melon Mambo has one layer of dimensionals and is placed on top of the Tempting Turquoise flowers to give a bit more lift. (Hope that is clear.) Also adding the Pearl Basic Jewels  draws you eye to the flowers as well.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps.  I hope you enjoyed my project featuring May Flowers Framelits and Falling Flowers Stamps.   Below is the same card in the 2017-2018 In Colors that made a few weeks ago. You can check it out on my blog here.

Flashback Friday - Gorgeous Grunge

At least once a month I post a Flashback Friday, featuring a new card made with retired SU products.  Don't fret, if you are really interested in any of the retired products featured in this post, I (or your local demonstrator) can try to find the product for you.  Just ask and I will get to work for you.

Today, I am featuring a card I made for a young lady that recently graduated from Burkburnet High school and is preparing to attend UT Austin this fall.  I tried to use UT colors for the card.  The stamp set is Gorgeous Grunge, it was retired 1 June 2017.  It was a very popular stamp set  and it is one I will keep as long as I am stamping.  I love to use it to create bold and subtle backgrounds.  Full disclosure this card was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest last year.

Card Measurements:
Tangerine Tango base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Smoky Slate layer 5 1/4  x 4
Whisper White layer 5 x 3 3/4
Tangerine Tango stars 3 x 3
Silver Glimmer Paper stars 3 x 3

TIP: Use a Stamp-a-ma-jig to ensure the stamps were exactly where I wanted them.  I did not want the lined stamp to appear crooked.  Also, glue dots work best for attaching the Silver Glimmer Paper star to the Tangerine Tango star. (At least that has been my experience).

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps, today for a little glimpse into popular retired products. I hope you enjoyed viewing my project featuring the retired Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and the retired Stars Framelits.  Below are two similar cards I made last year.

Card Sketch Monday - Featuring Falling Flowers

On Monday, I try post a sketch challenge to get the creative juices flowing.   This week I am posting a card I made for a Swap-Bot card sketch swap.  For this swap the host chose sketch #99 from the Freshly Made Sketches  (FMS) archives.   I love the FMS blog and I have made cards using their sketches several times.  This sketch was clean and simple just the way I like it.  I masked off an area, added color with the awesome Watercolor Pencils and did a little micro splattering with my Aqua Painter and Basic Black ink pad.  With my background ready I stamped and die cut a few flowers from the May Flowers Framelits and added some (sadly retired) Enamel Dots.  All done!!

Card Measurements:
 Daffodil Delight base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
Watercolor layer 5 x 3 3/4
Daffodil Delight flower  2 x 2
Bermuda Bay Flower 2 x 2
Melon Mambo flower 2 x 2

TIP:   I find the best tool to use for masking off an area to color is adhesive notes.  I have tried painters tape, masking tape and Washi tape.  While the others work sometimes, they have a tendency to really stick to the paper and I have had a few (actually many) disappointing results (paper tears).  So I stick with adhesive notes and I stock up when school supplies go on sale or ask for them at Christmas (nice stocking stuffer).

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tea and Stamps, today. I hope you enjoyed viewing my project featuring the fantastic Falling Flowers Stamps and May Flowers Thinlets.
