Crafty Collaborations Blog Hop - Metallics and My Stamps A-Z Celebrate Sunflowers

 

Hey Crafty Friends! Today I am creating with Celebrate Sunflowers stamps, as part of My Stamps A-Z highlighting my older stamp sets. This post is also part of a blog hop with my international Crafty Collaborators featuring metallics. I chose the Brush Metallic Cardstock to stamp and heat emboss with the large sunflower. Love the outcome the black ink and embossing powder just melded together to make a unique dark gold color.

 

Card Details

• Paper 
• Early Espresso card base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score and fold at 4 1/4"
• Mango Melody layer 3 3/4" x 4 1/2"
• Brushed Metallic layer - 3 1/2' x 3 1/2" 
• Stamp image in favorite black ink
• Apply embossing powder 
• Heat set 
• Ink
• Memento Tuxedo Black 
• Early Espresso

• Clear Embossing Powder
• Heat Tool 
• Early Espresso Faux Suede Trim 

Tip: Have ink (it needs to be somewhat juicy), embossing powder and heat tool ready to go before stamping.  Stamp image and immediately apply embossing powder, tap off excess and heat set.

Flowers for Every Season and Lovely You Pick a Punch

Hey Crafty Friends!!  Today I am sharing a card I made for a Stampin' Connection swap.  Usually I try to keep my swap fairly simple but not this time.  This was labor intensive but worth every minute.  I want to thank fellow demonstrator, Sherry Wayt, for the inspiration since I CaSEd her card.  Here is my version using the Flowers for Every Season DSP and the Lovely You Pick a Punch.

TIP:  When I participate in card swaps I am usually making 10 or more of the same card.  This particular card layout I CaSed from a photo on Pinterest so I had to figure out all the measurements. To start off I build the"prototype" and when  I am satisfied with the results I cut, score, fold, emboss, punch, stamp, every layer and then assemble the cards.  Sort of like assembly line work.

STARS Mystery Card Challenge

Hey Crafty Friends!! Once a month my fabulous upline hosts a team meeting on Zoom, part of that meeting is a Mystery Card Challenge.  Before the meeting she will give us some clues of what to bring and then during the meeting we are given more clues on how to assemble to card.  Once we are done we all share and it is amazing how our cards can be so different.  This is one of my favorite group activities.
