My Stamps A-Z - Dragonfly Garden--- Stamping with Friends Blog Hop -- Strip Card Challenge

Hey Crafty Friends!!! What to do with all those strips of paper? Today's hop is full of ideas on how to use paper strips in your cards. I am hopping and featuring one of my older sets, from My Stamps A-Z list. This colorful card features the Dragonfly Garden stamps, Subtles Cardstock and a bit of vellum. Also, I picked a sentiment from the Charming Sentiment stamps.
 
Card Details

  • Soft Seafoam cardstock base - 11" x 4 1/4", score & fold at 5 1/2"
  • Petal Pink cardstock layer - die cut with 2 largest Rectangle Stitched Die
  • Balmy Blue cardstock strip - 5/8" x 2 3/4"
  • Calypso Coral cardstock strip - 3/4" x 2 3/4" 
  • Pear Pizzazz cardstock strip - 7/8" x 2 3/4" 
  • Highlan Heather cardstock strip - 1" x 2 3/4" 
  • Basic White cardstock - scrap for watercoloring with Stampin' Block
  • Vellum - scrap for stamped and die cut layer
  • Basic Black cardstock - scrap for punched baby dragonfly

The Basic White cardstock was colored using the technique of applying ink directly to Stampin' Block, spritzing with water and stamping it directly on card stock.  Let it dry over night prior to covering with vellum.  Did you know July is Watercolor Month?  I didn't!!

*****Tip for stamping on vellum. Stamp image an set aside to dry. I used Momento ink and let is dry overnight.  Then I use a bit of Multipurpose Glue to adhere Vellum and watercolored white cardstock.  Die cut the layer with die measuring 1 3/4" x 3 3/4".
