Healing Hugs Card

Hey Crafty Friends!!  Today I am sending you some healing hugs with a card made using several products from the Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration brochure.  It's colorful, it's cheerful, it is a wonderful way to let an ailing friend or relative know you are thinking about them.

Card Details
  • Paper
    • Melon Mambo
      • Card base 11" x 4 1/4", score and fold at 5 1/2"
    • Whisper White
      • Embossed layer 3 3/8" x 4 1/8",  scrap for sentiment
    • Best Dressed Designer Series Paper
      •  Layer 2" x 4 1/8" (Mini Catalog)
  • Stamps
    • So Sentimental (Mini Catalog)
  • Ink
    • Melon Mambo
    • Gray Granite
    • Daffodil Delight Dark Stampin' Blends Marker
  • Tools/Embellishment
    • Stone 3D Embossing Folder (Sale-A-Bration item)
    • Stitched So Sweetly Dies (Mini Catalog)
    • Gray Granite 1/2" Textured Weave Ribbon
    • Frosted Flower Embellishments
    • Pearl Basic Jewels
    • Sponge Brayer

TIP: I wanted the stone in the embossing folder to pop.  To make this happen  I used my sponge brayer to add a bit of Gray Granite Ink to the raised impression side of the folder prior to running through my embossing machine.

The Stone 3-D Embossing Folder is part of the Power of Hope Bundle that is FREE with a qualifying purchase during Sale-A-Bration.  Use the Daffodil Delight Dark Stamping Blends Marker to color Pearl Basic Jewels before adding them to center of Frosted Flower Embellishments.

Power of Hope Bundle
Free with qualifying purchase
Available until 31 March, 2020

TIP #2: It is your lucky day, a second tip for making this card.  Usually I hide my ribbon between the cards base and the  first layer.  For this card I wrapped the ribbon around the entire card front by cutting a small opening in the fold and securing the loose ends of the ribbon under the sentiment.  Keeping it neat on the inside, no loose ends or adhesive to show.

It is a Card Case Sunday!!! Featuring the From My Heart Specialty DSP

I am back with my monthly Card Case Sunday.  Each year I struggle with what to do with all my left over Valentine's DSP, well my fellow Texas Demo, Anne Marie Hile, inspired me with her creation and this is my version of her card.  It is almost identical, I used a different sentiment and leaf, changed a few of the paper measurements, and added more flowers.

This is a great way to use up any left over Valentine's paper and a great card for a Wedding or Birthday.  I guess I just needed the right inspiration for this paper, I love the collaborative nature of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.  We strive to Create, Inspire, and Share.

Card Details:
  • Paper
    • Basic Black
      • Card base 11" x 4 1/4", score and fold at 5 1/2"
      • Die cut layer 4" x 4"
    • Flirty Flamingo
      • Accent layer 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
      • Stamped strip 5 1/4" x 1 1/2"
      • Scrap for flowers
    • Whisper White
      • Layer 4 12" x 3 1/2"
      • Liner 5 1/4" x 4"
      • Stamped and die cut layer 4" x 4"
    • From My Heart DSP
      • 5 1/4" x 4"
      • 4" x 2 3/4"
    • Vellum
      • Punched leaves 1 1/2" x 4"
  • Stamps
    • Thoughtful Blooms
    • So Sentimental
  • Ink
    • Real Red
    • Flirty Flamingo
  • Tools/Embellishments
    • Small Bloom Punch (FREE with qualifying purchase during Sale-A-Bration)
    • Layering Circle Dies
    • Real Red Cotton Ribbon
    • Noble Peacock Rhinestones

Tip:  I attached the ribbon to the Whisper White layer and glued it down, then carefully added the other layers by lightly applying glue and sliding the paper under the ribbon.  It was easy.

Hey, don't forget to leave a comment below to be entered into my February GIVEAWAY.  On March 2nd I will have a random drawing for one person to receive one of my projects featured on my blog this month, plus a surprise.  The more you comment the more opportunities you have to win.

Thanks for the Inspiration, Anne Marie Hile.
