#DOswts381 - STARS Inspiration Hop - Square Pinwheel Card


Hey Crafty Friends!!! Time for the bi-monthly STARS Inspiration Hop featuring Pinwheels of all types. I decided to make a large square pinwheel with the gorgeous New Horizons DSP. I plan to recreate this card and add an envelope with the soon to be released Waves of the Ocean DSP and make a video. This card I put together this morning

 

Card Measurements
  • Misty Moonlight CS card base - 5 1/2" x 11", score and fold at 5 1/2", 3" x 3" squares (2)
  • Blackberry Bliss CS - 5 3/8" x 5 3/8"
  • New Horizons DSP - 5 1/4" x 5 1/4", 1 7/16" x 1 7/16" squares (8), 01 1/4" x 1 1/4" (2) 

I used a brad to secure the pinwheel to the DSP and CS layer, making sure to just glue around the edges and allowing the pinwheel to be turned or spin if desired.  Watch my little video clip below.

STARS Mystery Card Challenge - Monochromatic Card

Hey Crafty Friends!!!  Oh my, I am so happy to be back posting after spending 5 days tearing up my kitchen and dining room floors.   That was a lot of work and now I just have to wait for the new floors on 7 March.  So thankful for the help of a great crew to do the demo and clean up.  So blessed.  

Last week at our team monthly team meeting we had a Mystery Card Challenge -  I love these challenges.  We chose products to use and the host gives us measurements and layout.  In the end everyone's card is different and fabulous, it is always a fun event.  Here is my monochromatic creation.



Card Details:

  • Just Jade CS Card Base - 11" x 4 1/4", score and fold at 5 1/4" and 1" x 4 1/4" 
  • Sweet Symmetry DSP - 3" x 4" , 1" x 4"
  • Basic White CS - 2 1/2" x 3"
  • Inside Liner - 5 1/4" x 4" 
Instructions: 
  1. Use glue to adhere DSP to card base as pictured. 
  2. If desired stamp image on 1' x 4 1/4" Just Jade CS with Just Jade ink and then glue to card base between DSP pieces. 
  3. Stamps sentiment and images (if desired) onto Basic White CS and adhere to card with dimensionals. 
  4. Now add your choice of embellishment to card front.  I used the Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels from the Waves of the Ocean Collection - available 1 March. 
  5. Add liner to inside card. 









I enjoyed making this card so much that I ended up making 6 in total using the solid pages from the Sweet Symmetry DSP - Bumblebee, Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, Just Jade and Night of Navy.
