Valentine Blog Hop!! - Meant to Be Bundle

Welcome Crafty Friends!! Today's I am participating in a blog hop with my fellow DO Stamper STARs demonstrators to share some candy packaging ideas.  I used the Meant To Be Cling Bundle and the all My Love DSP for my sweet treat box.   I am loving the Be Mine Stitched Framelits in the bundle.  I bet you are going to love it as well. 

Boxes are so easy and quick to put together for a treat.  The hardest part is deciding what candy you want to put inside.  I kept mine simple and used four Hershey's Minatures wrapped in All My Love DSP.  If you love Valentines this is a must have DSP, it will also work great for birthdays.

Tips for making treat boxes:

• Full disclosure this is general guidance for box making and the method that I use.  There are plenty of videos you can watch for more detailed guidance.  If you like to "wing it' like me, then the steps below should help you get it done. 
• Decide on number of treats 
• Layout treats on grid paper to estimate size of box bottom 
• Mine box bottom measured 1 7/8 x 2 1/16
• Measure side of treat to get box side measurement 
• Add 3/4 inch all around for sides
• Paper measured 3 3/8 x 3 9/16 scored at 3/4 all around
• Cut, score and glue 
• Do the same for the top, be sure to add at least 1/32 more to overall top and take away a bit from side measurement if you like a shorter side on your box.

Blue Rooster - Swap Card

Welcome Crafty Friends!!   Today's project features Sale-A-Bration favorite, Home to Roost.  This stamps set has been very popular and this Rooster is popping up all over Facebook and Pinterest.  Again, I made a blue bird, because I love blue and I adore this chicken.  I promise there will be a colored version soon.  The Home to Roost stamp set is FREE with a qualifying $50 purchase.  Hmmm...

Flowering Desert - Clear Block Stamping

Welcome Crafty Friends!!   Today's projects is a card featuring the Flowering Desert stamp set from the Occasions Catalog.  As a person living in North Texas we have lots of Prickly Pear cactus around here.  In my neighborhood folks have cactus in their flower beds.  

  Measurements:

Soft Suede base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 

Crushed Curry 5 1/4 x 4

Cajun Craze 5 1/8 x 3 7/8

Shimmery White 5 x 3 3/4

Wood Textures DSP 4 x 7/8 (sentiment)

Technique Tip:  I used my Crushed Curry, Blushing Bride and Cajun Craze Stampin Markers to layer ink on my Clear Block size "D", spritzed the block with water then plopped the block on my Shimmery White cardstock.  Color Block stamping is one of my favorite techniques to add background color to a card, I have used it many times. Keep in mind that you cannot be in a hurry when use the Clear Block stamping technique, the paper needs to dry a bit before you start stamping other images because they could smear or run.  Also Shimmery White cardstock or Watercolor paper are the best for this type of application.
